Over the past few months, while this blog was being neglected, I went through a bit of a “crisis” of sorts with regards to some of my extra curricular activities. I felt my motivation to go mountain biking just disappear.
The Haleiwa Metric Century Ride is now in its 25th year. It starts just down the road from where I live on the north shore. Close enough that I can leisurely ride my bike to the start line, pick up my packet, take the schwag bag back to my house and make it back to the start line all in the time span of about 25 minutes.
Started of the day with a serious lack of motivation. Took all day to muster up the will to get out for a ride but I finally just pushed through and got out there. So what happened when I got out there. As usual I had a great ride.
All right two months down. Ten months to go. Time to check in with my short term goals and see how they are coming.
There is something special about that feeling you get when things start to come together. When you get out for a ride and can truly appreciate the progress you’ve made. When that progress finally breaks out from the penumbra of possible statistical variation and becomes unmistakable.
All right as promised here are my bike goals for 2016 and beyond!
With the help of my coach, Coach Richard over at Ninja Mountain Bike Performance, I have split these up into Short Term, Mid Term and Long Term goals.
One of my favorite part about new years is the tradition of setting goals and looking forward to what can be accomplished in the year to come. I am a firm believer that the more explicit and concrete a goal the more likely it will be achieved and that by writing down and sharing our goals we further increase the chances we will not let them fall by the wayside.
